What Is Interior Styling?

An Interior Stylist helps transform your home into a “magazine quality” version of itself. Interior styling is about dressing a room so that it looks as good as it possibly can while still being functional and expressing your taste.

Are You An Interior Designer?

We are not an Interior Design Service.

An Interior Stylist is generally more affordable than an interior designer and provides a more “hands on” and practical design service.

Interior Stylist, Interior Designer and Interior Decorator are all different services.  An Interior Stylist helps you to source furniture and accessories to dress a room to its greatest potential (generally on an hourly rate).  An Interior Designer provides an in-depth plan for execution of your design aspirations literally from the floor boards up (generally starting at around $5000). Interior Decorator is a general term meaning anyone providing aesthetically driven home improvement.

How is Interior Styling service different to Property Styling?

Think of Property Styling as a snapshot and Interior Styling as a lifestyle. Interior styling is about creating your dream home for you and your family.  It’s about finding practical yet beautiful options so that you’ll simply love living in your own home.  Property Staging is about preparing a property for sale – taking into consideration the aspirations and tastes of buyers.

Do you do full consulting to design my home?

Stagency works with select builders and clients to provide an end to end interior styling service.  We can advise on renovations that will improve the light and ambience of your space.  We do not, however, provide a full interior design service but can highly recommend Interior Designers we do work along side.

How much does Interior Styling cost?

Our interior styling firm charges an initial consultation fee of $295 Plus GST for a 2-hour meeting in your Brisbane or South East Queensland home or via Skype for clients outside of the Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich and Sunshine Coast areas.

Your Interior Style Consultant then works on a competitive hourly rate to source furnishings and decor via our exclusive network of designer furniture brands.  Your consultant’s hourly rate is charged in 5-hour blocks, and it will generally take 5-10 hours per room to source everything for your new look.

How long does it take to design my home?

We work to your timeline.  Interior styling is fun.  You’ll love the experience and the results. There’s nothing more enjoyable than styling your home to be just perfect!  In most cases, a complete transformation takes no time at all.  Allow up to 4 weeks for sourcing of the furniture and decor items.  Final installation will depend on availability and delivery schedules.

Who selects the furniture?

You do – with our help! We offer you a selection of furniture and accessory options – you make all the choices and we do all the work.  Enjoy!

Can I come shopping with you?

Part of the benefit of working with a property styling company is our access to exclusive showrooms and ‘before it hits the market’ design.  This means our suppliers will only permit your home styling consultant to take a peek beyond the showroom doors.  We do provide you with plenty of images of the beautiful items we find.  Grab a wine and browse our carefully curated selections.  What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

What are your payment terms?

We require full payment via direct debit prior to work commencing.

Does Stagency service areas outside Brisbane?

Our styling company is based in beautiful Shorncliffe, on Brisbane’s northern beaches and we primarily do interior styling in Brisbane.  We do enjoy a day trip to the Gold & Sunshine Coasts as well as the Ipswich and Moreton Bay Region areas (who doesn’t!).  Thanks to Skype, we are able to organise interior styling Australia-wide with the client implementing the final room install with our guidance remotely.

What if you can’t find the right piece for my room?

It hasn’t happened yet, so this is a hard one to answer!  We can access the gold circle of modern interior design.  Our suppliers are hand-selected for taste, on-trend design and quality.  We work hard to identify the perfect piece – and even to spoil you for choice.
